LANDSCAPE; RURAL VS URBAN questions our interpretation of landscapes and different sceneries through the appreciation of nature on its own and the exploration of man intervened urban settings. The show brings together a vibrant range of local and international artists who focus on the different ways we relate to the places we inhabit and the impact we have on them.

Dijah Abreu Jr presents artworks where each element of his landscapes is thought out, worked on, post processed through long hours and sometimes days to enhance certain aspects of the exposure to achieve a signature colour palette that gives the images a painterly feel, and blends the boundaries between photography and fine art. His work is the product of a marriage between technical mastery and human emotion, told through a camera lens and the shifting passage of light through a variety of scenery. Fi Bunn presents photographs that tell stories particularly related to mountains, alpinism and the environment. Besides sharing her admiration for nature, she addresses environmental decay and transformation due to man intervention through her works. Ingrid Prill creates masterful pieces where the observer has the opportunity to submerge into another world, explore it and begin a journey to somewhere beautiful, mystical or maybe even dark and threatening. She offers us an array of possibilities that are ready to be discovered.

You are warmly welcome to join us for a drink with the artists at the opening night of LANDSCAPE; RURAL VS URBAN at The Brick Lane Gallery – The Annexe open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 3rd February 2016.
